Company Overview
Pride Community Services Organization (PCSO) envisions communities that accept and celebrate each individual. We work to improve the lives of people in the sexual minority and gender expansive (LGBTQ+) community in Central and Eastern Kentucky. We accomplish this by enhancing visibility, empowering community members, and educating the public about issues impacting this community.
We help LGBTQ+ people in Central and Eastern Kentucky find connection, resources, and reassurance that they belong. We offer an open, welcoming space for people of different ages, genders, sexualities, races, abilities, and income levels to find their place within our incredibly diverse LGBTQ+ family. We never know who will contact us next looking for help, for information, for a welcome. Sometimes their needs are as simple as picking up a magazine or a pamphlet, but other times they are more complicated. Fortunately, the PCSO provides a wide range of services to fill the diverse needs of our community.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
The PCSO operates the only community base LGBTQ+ Pride Center in Kentucky. The Pride Center offers resources, referrals, and a safe drop-in space for the LGBTQ+ community as well as housing our 2,000 title LGBTQ+ free lending library and providing space for community groups to meet. We also publish LinQ the only monthly magazine in Kentucky for the LGBTQ+ community. Finally, we produce the annual Lexington Pride Festival.
