Company Overview

Bluegrass Regional Prevention Center was established in 1970 to provide research-based substance abuse prevention resources and assistance to the 17 counites in the service region. Certified Prevention Specialists work closely with schools, community groups and local government to gather data, increase capacity, develop strategic plans, implement short and long-term strategies and conduct evaluations in order to address substance abuse issues in the community. Bluegrass Prevention Center has facilitated state and federal grant projects, including a Drug-Free-Communities grant, a research grant funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, an on-going Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant, and multiple state grants and contracts. Prevention services utilize the Strategic Prevention Framework as the tool to guide communities in the process of achieving outcomes as well as the six effective strategies identified by Center for Substance Abuse Prevention as those most likely to achieve outcomes.
